Vande Guru Paramparam

Salutations to all the Gurus and Guru Paramparas originating from Parameshwara and continuing upto our Guru.

Gurus are not to be remembered only on a particular day! They need to be remembered throughout life, even at the time of one’s death.
A Guru and Sishya are connected by an Aatma Bandha (soul connection) that cannot be separated even by death! Guru is the manifest God sent by Ishwara himself to help us achieve our life goals and to remove all sorrows and sufferings!
We must always pay respect to the great Gurus who lead us to Ishwara, by teaching us Sanathana Dharma. They advise us through loving wisdom, and sometimes by reprimanding and correcting us. Even if we fail to achieve the goals in the current birth, they seek us in the future births or in whichever Loka we are in, by hand-holding and uplifting us no matter what stage of evolution we are in.

In Samskrit, ‘Gu’ means darkness and ‘Ru’ means to remove. Guru is the one who dispels the darkness of ignorance and gives the light of wisdom. A Sadhguru is that Karunyamurthy (embodiment of mercy), who removes the ignorance of the disciples, and leads them to the right divine path! The truth is that Ishwara comes before us in the form of a Guru to lead us to Moksha!!

Our Sastras say, “Gurureva Jagat Sarvam” – Only with the help of a Sadguru can one achieve proper success in this world and in the afterlife, and attain perfection through Moksha or self-realization, which is the ultimate goal of life!
Guru Paramparas are the real source of Sanathana Dharma!
They are the links that are maintaining Dharma ever-new since ancient times. Sanathana Dharma must be learned and practiced from a Guru (Guru Upasana).

It is when we are with a true Guru, that we begin to understand atleast a little bit about Satyam (Truth).

Sant Kabirdas says: “If God and Guru appear before me at the same time, I will first bow to the Guru and only then bow down to God, because it is the Guru that has shown me God.”

Many Atheists, rationalists, agnostics, and scientists have been transformed into believers of Dharma through contact with a true Guru!!

When our parents, wife/husband, children, siblings, or friends hesitate to take up our Karmas, a Sadguru takes on the Karmas of his disciples and bestows them divine experiences! Hence, there is no stronger relationship on earth than that of a Guru and disciple! True disciples are those who dedicate their unconditional love and devotion to the Guru.

A Guru is someone who mercifully imparts to his disciples what he has earned through hardwork and endurance. He raises deserving disciples to the highest levels through Divya Pada and Shakti Pada Deekshas! Hence, a Guru is the spiritual father and mother to the disciple. True Aarsha Gurus want their disciples to rise above them!

Among the many kinds of Gurus like Soochaka Guru, Preraka Guru, Chodaka Guru, Bodhaka Guru, Deeksha Guru, Veda Guru, Vedanta Guru, Vidya Guru, Sastra Guru, Siddha Guru, Jnana Guru, Acharya Guru, Yogeeshwara Guru, Maha Guru, Aatma Guru, the most important of them all is the Sadhguru who is a part of the Guru Parampara that teaches Sanathana Dharma and the right Ishwara Darshana (concept of god)!! Such a Guru must belong to a Guru Parampara that originated from Parameshwara.

The Guru Gita is the chief among the divine Shlokas that describe the supreme importance of the Guru. Here is the essence of one of the verses that describe the greatness of Gurus:
“If the deities get angry on someone, the Guru can stop them. If the Guru gets angry, no one can stop him or save someone from his anger.”
Such is the greatness of a Guru
